Numerous memberships and certificates underscore the high environmental and safety awareness of the ChemDelta Bavaria member companies – their activities are regularly audited by independent inspectors.

Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS)

EMAS, a combined system of voluntary environmental management and audits, was developed by the European Community in 1993 for companies that wish to improve their environmental performance.

Occoupational Health- and Risk-Management System (OHRIS)

OHRIS is an international occupational health and safety management system that is certified within Bavaria and Saxony. The aim of this separate Bavarian occupational health and safety system (which has also been introduced in Saxony) is to strengthen the companies’ personal responsibility and to replace direct monitoring with controlled self-monitoring. OMV Deutschland, GENDORF industrial park, Wacker and ESPE were the first to successfully introduce OHRIS. They were awarded certificates by the Bavarian state government on May 22, 2000.

Quality Management as per ISO 9001:2000

The quality management standard defines the requirements on a quality management (QM system) that regulates an organization’s ability to provide products meeting customers’ requirements and the valid official regulations, and strives to increase customer satisfaction.

Responsible Care®

The global Responsible Care® initiative represents the chemical industry’s voluntary commitment to continually improving their companies’ environmental policies, health and safety, and regularly showing this progress to the public – independent of legal requirements. With Responsible Care®, the chemical industry contributes to solving global (environmental) problems in the areas that fall under its scope of responsibility and lie within its control.

Environmental Management as per ISO 14001:2001

The international environmental management standard ISO 14001 defines globally acknowledged requirements for environmental management systems and is part of a family of standards. This family of standards contains numerous other standards on various aspects of environmental management, environmental indicators and environmental performance assessment.

Bavarian Environmental Pact

The Bavarian Environmental Pact is an agreement between the Bavarian state government and Bavarian industry. It is based on voluntary input, personal responsibility and cooperation. The Bavarian Environmental Pact’s main aims are to prevent future environmental impacts, improve communication between industry and administration, and relieve companies of excess bureaucracy.
